Summary:
Since Raymond Lam likes oysters and champagne, the author of this article (Ms. Song) invited him to have a meal at Wanchai's QREPLAZA's DAP. Thus, they can try the oysters at the newly refurnished section while chatting with each other. The author of this article has been concerned and waiting to speak to him, especially after he received the Asia-Pacific Most Popular Hong Kong Male Singer Award. She wonders how good he's at dealing with the pressure coming from receiving the award after entering the music industry for 3 years.

This young man is very mature in handling this type of pressure. He's just amazing! The author of this article wrote, "My thoughts are too outdated that we are afraid the award is coming too quickly that he might not be able to face the pressure but he handled it so well. We were too worried." Raymond said he believes in his company he's working for and will accept and embrace everything it gives him with grace. The author of this article wrote, "What an impressive answer! We gotta learn from the generation from the 80's like Raymond Lam and go for the future and lift the burdens!"

Getting ready to meet the challenges for starring in the movies

Since Raymond's always well prepared with skills, such as speaking in fluent Mandarin, he became the MC of some TVB8 programmes once he entered the entertainment industry when he's 17-18 years old. His Mandarin is so good because he often joined Speech Competition during his schooldays. That lays the foundation of his communication skills. Since reciting an article also needs proper eye contact and body language, he already got lots of experience to perform on stage back then! Since he started acting in dramas, he's way younger than most of his colleagues(actors) but he often needs to portray characters who are much older than his actual age.

The Year of 2009 is a turning point for Raymond Lam. He spent much more time on music. He held several successful concerts and received many awards, including the Asia-Pacific Most Popular Hong Kong Male Singer Award (which many singers cannot get but wanna getting after being in the industry for many years) after entering the music industry (by releasing his own albums) for 3 years. He never expected to get this award. It became a very hot debate topic on the Internet. After he received the award and went down the stage, he was surprised and a bit stunned for quite a while at the backstage. Only a few staff spotted this at that time. He knew that everything's coming too quickly and he felt like he's in a dream. He has been facing pressure that belittles his efforts on his job all the way through, such as saying that his family is wealthy, etc.. He appreciates opportunities given by the company for which he worked. Thus, he'll will accept and embrace everything TVB gives him with grace. There are always different comments for and against a topic. Hence, Raymond said he will try his best and aim for perfection with 200% efforts in everything he does.

In addition to music, Raymond will start trying other new things such as starring in movies. He said dramas and movies are different although both require acting skills. It will be another challenge for him!

Raymond will stay in Hong Kong during Lunar New Year

The author of this article expected most artists will value fame and wealth over everything but Raymond's different. He values friendship. He said, "If I have to choose between friendship and awards, I'd rather to have friendship." Ron Ng is one of his best friends. Raymond said the most fruitful reward after entering the entertainment industry is friendship. He has lots of true friends. He said friends are very important and he'll always be with friends if he happens to have a day off.

Ms. Song (author of this article): "Did you meet up with your classmates?"

Raymond replied, "Yes, I did meet up with them, including classmates from my primary school and kindergarten. I like being with friends very much but of course classmates are also important!"

Ms. Song (author of this article): "How about your family?"

Raymond replied, "My family is also equally important. I won't go back to Xiamen during Lunar New Year. My grandma wasn't feeling well a while ago so she moved back to Hong Kong. Hence, my parents will also come to Hong Kong during this Lunar New Year. I'll be staying in Hong Kong this year."

Afterword:

Raymond said he hoped he could visit the New Year Fairs/flower markets after the countdown show. The author of the article said she could go with him. The author of the article also wishes Raymond Happy New Year and all his dreams come true.
